This small grey wash willow candle lantern stands 35 cm tall and 24 cm across at its widest point, weighing 1.2 kg. Split grey wash willow is woven over the frame, with a rope handle above and a removable glass jar inside, which makes it a small wicker lantern for a table or a hall shelf.

It is the smallest of our three willow lanterns: the Raindrop Lantern is 41 cm and 1.8 kg, our Grey Wash Willow Candle Lantern 52 cm and 2 kg. No flame rating is recorded for any of them, so we would use an LED candle.

Which of the three willow lanterns is this?

The small one. Ours run 35 cm, 41 cm and 52 cm, at 1.2 kg, 1.8 kg and 2 kg, all in split grey wash willow.

What finish is it?

Our supplier records it as grey wash, which is a wash into the rods rather than a coat of paint over them. A wash soaks in and lets the rods read through, which is what the photographs show. Ask us if you need it confirmed before you order.

What size candle fits the jar?

We have not published a figure for the jar because it has not been measured. A standard tealight or a small LED pillar will sit in it. Drop us a line and we will put a rule over one for you.

Can I hang it from a branch?

The rope handle is made for hanging and 1.2 kg is light enough for a sturdy branch or a shepherd’s crook. Bring it in afterwards, because the willow is unsealed.
