Will this rattan basket fit underneath my hallway bench?

The medium basket is specifically suited to under-bench storage, with a height of 31 cm and a footprint measuring 63 × 26 cm. Measure the available opening carefully and allow additional clearance so the basket can be pulled in and out comfortably. The taller large basket is generally better suited to floor-standing storage.

What is the purpose of the hessian lining?

Hessian provides a fabric layer between stored belongings and the rattan weave. This can be particularly useful when storing shoes, accessories and textiles, as it prevents items from resting directly against the natural cane. It also contributes to the basket's traditional appearance.

Can I use the larger basket for storing blankets or logs?

The larger basket offers substantial space for dry blankets, spare bedding and general household storage. It may also be used for firewood, provided it is kept away from heat sources and loose debris is removed regularly.

How should I maintain the rattan and hessian lining?

Remove dust and loose particles with a soft brush or vacuum attachment. For minor surface marks, use a lightly dampened cloth and allow the basket to dry thoroughly. Avoid prolonged damp conditions, which can affect both the rattan and fabric.
