This antique wash tapered tray is a willow tray with sides that flare outward, in three sizes. The medium is 34 x 20.5 x 10 cm at 200 g, the large 39 x 25.5 x 12 cm at 300 g, and the extra large 44 x 30.5 x 14 cm at 400 g. It holds craft materials, toiletries, fruit or post.

The taper is what separates these from our straight-sided trays: every size has a base narrower than its rim by 5 to 7 cm, so the sides lean out. They are also deeper, at 10 to 14 cm against 6 to 10 cm. There is no set of three and no lined version.

FAQs

Is there a small size or a set of three?

No. This tray starts at medium and runs to extra large, and the sizes are sold individually. Our straight-sided trays do come as a set of three if that is what you are after.

How do these differ from the straight-sided trays?

The sides flare rather than rising straight, so the rim is wider than the base by 5 to 7 cm, and these are deeper at 10 to 14 cm against 6 to 10 cm. The straight-sided ones also come lined; these do not.

Will one fit on a windowsill?

The medium at 20.5 cm front to back suits most. Measure the sill depth, and remember the base is narrower than the rim, so a tray can overhang slightly and still sit stable.

How should I look after it?

Brush or dust it out. It is unlined willow, so keep it away from standing water and out of direct heat, which dries the rods over time.
