This wooden framed storage basket is split antique wash willow woven around a wooden frame, sold as a small, a large or a set of both. The small is 23 x 23 x 23 cm at 500 g, a true cube. The large is 30 x 30 x 28 cm at 800 g. The pair suit shelf storage for craft materials, cables, seed packets or plant pots.

A wooden frame runs around the rim and base, with the split willow woven between the two. Hand holds are cut into the timber itself. The small is 7 cm narrower and 5 cm shorter than the large, so the two sit together without either looking like a mistake.

Whereabouts is the wooden frame?

It forms the rim and the base. The split willow is woven around it, so the timber is what you grip and what the basket stands on.

Can I put one size inside the other?

The small is 23 cm square and the large is 30 cm square, so on paper it goes in. We have not tested a pair for a proper fit, so email us and we will try it with two from the same batch before you order.

Is a liner available?

No, both sizes are sold unlined. The split willow shows on the inside face as well as the outside.

What are the hand holds like to use?

They are cut openings in the wooden frame, one on each of two opposite sides, rather than rope or willow loops. Nothing sticks out from the basket, so it sits flat against a wall or another basket.
