Four sizes of shallow seagrass tray, sold singly or all four together, each bare or with a removable white cotton lining. The seagrass is woven onto a plastic coated metal frame, which keeps the sides square and stops the tray flexing when it is lifted by the rim.

These sit firmly on the tray side of the line between a tray and a basket, with the contents in one layer and in view. The smaller sizes go into drawers and onto dressing tables for perfume, brushes and jewellery; the bigger ones cover a shelf or a worktop.

Will it fit in a drawer?

The small at 32 x 21 x 7 cm goes into most standard drawers, and the medium at 36 x 25 x 8 cm into deeper ones. Measure the inside of the drawer rather than the front, since runners and the drawer box take up more room than you expect.

What is seagrass like to handle?

Smoother and softer than willow, with a slight sheen and a green-gold tone that fades towards straw as it ages. It is woven here onto a plastic-coated metal frame, which is what keeps the sides square.

Can I serve food on it?

With the cotton lining in, or with anything plated or wrapped, yes. Seagrass is a natural woven material rather than a wipe-clean surface, so avoid putting wet or greasy food straight onto the weave.

Which size for a dressing table?

The small or medium. At 7 to 8 cm deep they hold perfume, brushes and jewellery where you can see all of it, which a deeper basket does not.
