This round rattan umbrella basket is a hallway umbrella stand woven from kubu grey rattan, 25 cm across and 48 cm tall. It stands 54 cm to the top of the handles and weighs 1.1 kg empty. It holds umbrellas, walking sticks and a rolled newspaper beside a front door.

It covers a 25 cm circle, against the 32 x 32 cm of the square version, which weighs 1.6 kg. Rattan is unsealed, so a wet umbrella will damp the weave.

Is a liner or drip tray supplied?

No, nothing is fitted inside. Most people stand it on a doormat or drop a shallow dish in the bottom if wet umbrellas are going in.

How many umbrellas will a 25 cm circle take?

A handful of full size ones, which is an estimate from the diameter and not a count. Ask us and we will fill one and tell you the real number.

Why choose this over the square version?

Footprint. A 25 cm circle tucks into a corner or beside a door frame where the 32 cm square will not, and it is half a kilo lighter at 1.1 kg.

Will it tip if the umbrellas lean?

It weighs 1.1 kg empty on a 25 cm base and we have not tested it loaded, so we would not promise it will not. The square version is heavier at 1.6 kg and sits on a wider footprint.
