This cutlery basket is a square of grey wash willow divided into four compartments, with a fixed handle bridging the middle.

Four compartments sort knives, forks, spoons and napkins before they get to the table, and the handle means one hand takes the lot out to a picnic, a barbecue or a buffet. Left on a worktop it keeps everyday cutlery to hand. Shake the crumbs out and brush it dry: willow swells when it is soaked, so it should stay out of a dishwasher.

Is the handle part of the weave?

Fixed. It runs over the middle of the basket and takes the height from 10 cm to 22 cm, so measure a cupboard shelf against 22 cm.

Willow or oak effect, which is easier to clean?

The oak effect holder, because a flat wooden surface wipes and a weave does not. Willow takes a dry brush instead. Both hold the same 18 x 18 x 10 cm.

How wide is one compartment?

Close to 9 cm, worked out from the 18 cm outside measurement rather than measured directly, so treat it as approximate. Email us and we will measure a basket for you.

Can it go in a dishwasher?

No. Willow swells and the wash lifts when it is soaked. Shake the crumbs out and brush it down dry.
