The small of these two round log baskets narrows noticeably from rim to base, which holds its footprint in while leaving the opening wide; the large is broader and deeper throughout. Both are full antique wash willow, hessian lined, with rope handles pushed through the rim.

Both take firewood at a log burner and kindling by a grate. The small suits a shallow modern hearth, the large an open fire or anywhere it gets filled less often. Either will hold a tall houseplant if the pot keeps its own saucer.

• Full antique wash finish willow in both sizes
• Hessian lining fitted throughout

• Holds firewood at a log burner, kindling by a grate, or a tall houseplant still in its pot

Please be aware that where our products are made from natural materials, colours may vary slightly.

The process of basket weaving with willow is naturally sustainable due to the relatively quick growth of the plant fibres. The artisans use traditional weaving methods and techniques to create highly decorative, but durable, pieces.

FAQs

How wide is the base on the small?

Thirty centimetres across, against 42 cm at the rim. That 12 cm taper is what lets it tuck into a shallow modern hearth while still opening wide at the top.

Why is there no base figure for the large?

We measure that one to order. Email us and we will put a tape over a basket and give you the base figure.

Can a plant pot go straight in?

Yes, if the pot has its own saucer. Willow is unsealed and the hessian is jute, so neither should be watered through.

How is the grey colour produced?

It is a full antique wash finish, applied across the whole length of the willow. The colour softens with age, which is the willow behaving normally.
