Natural water hyacinth is woven over a metal frame to create this compact square napkin holder. Its broad plaited strands lend texture, while a hinged metal weight rests over the napkins.

Use it on a dining table or serving counter to keep paper or folded cloth napkins tidy. The weight also helps prevent napkins from shifting in a light breeze during sheltered outdoor dining.

What is water hyacinth?

It is a freshwater plant whose dried stems can be woven into household accessories. The broad fibres produce a plaited surface that differs from round willow rods.

How does the napkin weight work?

The hinged metal part sits above the stack to keep napkins flat. It can be lifted when replenishing the holder.

Can it hold cloth napkins?

Yes, if they are folded to fit within the available space. Thicker fabric will reduce the number that can be stacked.

How should I clean it?

Use a soft brush or lightly damp cloth and dry promptly. Avoid soaking plaited fibres, which can retain moisture.
