Splitting the cane before weaving is what makes this one different: kubu grey split rattan gives a flatter, tighter surface than round cane, so nothing snags on clothing going in or out. The lid is detached, with a handle on top, and the lining is blacu cotton, unbleached and washable. Small, large or a set of two.

Both are tall squares, so they stand in a bedroom or bathroom corner and hold laundry, bedding, toys or general storage. The small is enough for a couple, the large for a family's washing between loads.

Which size do I need?

The large at 42 x 42 cm and 62 cm tall takes a family's washing between loads. The small at 37 x 37 cm and 58 cm tall suits one or two people, or a bedroom rather than a bathroom. The set of two is the straightforward way to sort darks from lights.

What is blacu cotton?

Unbleached, undyed cotton, left close to its natural colour. It is a plain, hard-wearing cloth, and the lining lifts out so it can go in the wash.

Is the lid attached?

No, it is a detached lid with a handle on top. That means it lifts clear when you are loading with both arms full, though it does need somewhere to sit while the basket is open.

Will it mark clothes?

The lining is there to prevent it. Split rattan gives a flatter inner surface than round cane, and with the cotton lining in place nothing touches the weave.
