An opening is cut down the front of this round antique wash willow column, so a stack of three spare toilet rolls stays in view. It is open topped, made in one size, with no fittings on it.

Seeing the stack go down is the practical difference: in a family bathroom somebody notices the restock without lifting anything. It is narrow, which suits a tight gap beside a pedestal or a cistern, and light enough to pick up and move when you clean. Dust settles on the top roll, which in practice is the one used next.

Is there a lid or not?

This holder is open topped, with no lid. Email us if you would like us to open a box and check anything else before you order.

Open or closed, which should I pick?

Open if you want to see the stack going down without lifting anything. Closed if you would rather the rolls were out of sight and off the dust.

Why is this one 1 cm narrower?

It is a different build. It is 17 cm across against 18 cm for the closed holders, and 1.5 cm shorter, which makes it the one for a tight gap beside a pedestal.

Does dust get in through the opening?

More than it would through a closed lid, yes. A roll on the top of the stack is the one that collects it, which in practice is the one used first.
