Water hyacinth over a wooden frame, with bare wooden handles set into the ends and left unfinished against the pale fibre. Hyacinth stems are dried flat and plaited, which gives the honey colour. Three sizes are made, small, medium and large, singly or as a set of all three.

Scale is the point: these go inside kitchen cupboards, along narrow bathroom shelves, in cube units and on bedside tables, where a full-size basket will not. Like any untreated wood, the handles may darken over the years. The three sit inside one another.

How does this differ from your other water hyacinth baskets?

The frame and the size. The rest of the range is woven onto metal and starts at 37 cm long; this one is on a wooden frame with wooden handles and runs 24 to 34 cm. If you want a basket for a shelf or the inside of a cupboard, this is the one. If you want a basket for the floor, take one of the larger ones.

What fits in the small one?

It is 24 x 19 cm and 16 cm deep, which covers cables and chargers, toiletries, cosmetics, spice jars, remotes or a handful of small toys. Folded clothes want the large at the very least.

Are the handles painted?

No, they are bare wood and left that way on purpose. Like any untreated wood the colour may deepen a little over the years.

Do they stack?

The three step up in a way that lets each sit inside the next, which is useful when you only need one of them out.
