Split willow gives this rectangular basket a finer, closer weave than whole willow: the willow is cut lengthways before weaving, so each strand is flatter. The finish is antique wash, handles are cut into the weave, and a removable white cotton and polyester lining comes with all three sizes, sold singly or as a set.

They are shallow, so contents stay in sight rather than piling out of reach. Bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and conservatories all suit them, and they nest inside one another between uses. Each lining lifts out for the wash.

How is this different from your storage basket in four sizes?

Weave and depth. This one is split willow, which gives a finer, closer weave, and it comes lined as standard in three sizes at 14 to 16 cm deep. The other is full willow in four sizes, 17 to 23 cm deep, with the lining as an optional extra.

What is split willow?

Willow cut lengthways before weaving, so each strand is flatter and finer than a full willow. The result is a tighter surface than full willow gives.

Can I buy the sizes separately?

Yes. Small, medium and large are sold individually, or as a set of all three.

Does the lining come out?

Yes. It is a cotton polyester blend, it lifts out and it washes. Let it dry fully before it goes back in.
