An oval willow laundry basket in antique wash, with grips worked into the rim at each end rather than fitted on afterwards, and a removable lining in white or printed garden rose.

Nothing stands proud of the sides, so it goes through a doorway and sits back against a wall without catching. Wet washing out to the line, folded clothes between rooms, towels and bedding in an airing cupboard: the lining keeps the weave off fabric and comes out to be washed. The willow is unsealed, so keep it away from standing water.

• Full antique wash finish willow, woven over an oval frame
• Removable cotton and polyester lining in white or garden rose
• Handles worked into the rim rather than fitted on afterwards
• 64 x 51 cm across the top, on a 47 x 36 cm base
• 1.3 kg empty
• Carries wet washing to the line, folded clothes between rooms, or towels and bedding in an airing cupboard

Please be aware, colours may vary slightly as our products are made from natural materials.

The process of basket weaving with willow is naturally sustainable due to the relatively quick growth of the plant fibres. The artisans use traditional weaving methods and techniques to create highly decorative pieces.

FAQs

What separates the white version from the garden rose?

Only the fabric. Both sit in the same 64 x 51 x 29 cm basket, one plain white, the other a printed garden rose. The willow, the handles and the 1.3 kg weight are identical.

Is it deep enough to carry a full load of wet washing?

We have not published a capacity figure for this basket, because wet washing packs very differently from dry. The rim measures 64 x 51 cm over a 47 x 36 cm base, 29 cm deep. Email us and we will load one and tell you what went in.

Where exactly are the handles?

At each end of the rim, formed in the weave and not added on. Measured to the top of them the basket stands 34 cm, which is 5 cm above the 29 cm sides.

Will it go in a bathroom?

The willow is unsealed, so keep it off a wet floor and away from standing water. A dry bathroom or a landing is fine, and so is a utility room. It is an indoor basket.
