The sides on this hamper slope, so the back stands higher than the front and the lid lies at an angle when shut. It is full light steamed willow, with a tan faux leather strap and metal stud at the front, a double hinged lid and a fixed handle. Standard and Large sizes are made.

Metal chains run between lid and body on the Standard, stopping the lid falling right back. It does double duty: packed for a picnic for two to four, then left in a hallway holding linen or magazines between trips.

What does the slope actually do?

It raises the back of the hamper above the front, so the lid sits at an angle when closed. The Standard runs 22 cm at the front to 28 cm at the back, and the Large 28 cm to 33 cm.

Standard or Large for a family of four?

The Large. At 52 x 35 cm it has around 70% more floor area than the Standard, which is closer to a lunch for two.

What stops the lid dropping right back?

Metal chains are fitted between the lid and the body on the Standard. Ask us if it matters on the Large and we will check before you order.

Is the willow sealed?

No. Light steamed willow is left unsealed, so keep it indoors or under cover and let it dry naturally if it does get damp.
