This cream cooler bag is a PVC lined picnic cooler with a handle sewn into the lid and two zips, measuring 26 x 17 x 16 cm and weighing 200 g. It keeps food and drink cold on the way to a picnic, and either slots into a hamper or travels on its own.

A wicker hamper is a lovely thing but it is not insulated, which is why almost every fitted picnic set includes a cooler of some kind. This is that part, sold on its own: a PVC lining that holds temperature in a way bare basketwork cannot, in a boxy 26 x 17 cm footprint that sits inside most hampers or drops into a rucksack. Two zips mean it opens from either side rather than only one, and the handle is sewn into the lid instead of stitched onto the outside, so there is nothing to snag when it slides in beside the plates.

FAQs

How long will it keep things cold?

That depends on the weather, what goes in it and whether you use a freezer block. Insulation slows heat getting in, it does not refrigerate, so chill everything beforehand and the bag will hold it for a few hours rather than all day.

Does it come with ice packs?

No, the bag only. A standard freezer block sits flat in the base.

Will it fit inside a hamper?

At 26 x 17 x 16 cm it fits inside most of our larger hampers alongside the plates. Check the internal dimensions of yours if it is one of the smaller sizes.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the PVC lining out with a damp cloth and leave it open to dry. It is not for the washing machine.
