The lid on this rectangular bathroom basket lifts straight off instead of hinging back, so it wants room above it and none behind. Full antique wash willow throughout, with a handle set on top of the lid. It is narrow front to back and tall rather than wide, one size, bare willow inside.

Spare rolls, cleaning bottles and bathroom odds stay out of sight, which is what the lid is for. Beside a cistern, or between a pedestal and a wall, is where the narrow footprint tells. Lift the lid off and it works as an open basket.

FAQs

Will it fit beside my toilet?

Measure the gap between the pan or pedestal and the wall. At 19 cm front to back it suits a narrow run, and at 37 cm long it needs a clear stretch rather than a corner. Height is 32 cm to the lid.

Does the lid need clearance above it?

Only enough to lift it off, since it is detached rather than hinged. That makes it a better choice than a hinged hamper under a basin or a low windowsill.

How does it compare to your open toilet roll basket?

Same job, different approach. Our oval toilet roll basket is open and lower at 25 cm, so you can see and grab a roll. This one has a lid and more height, so everything stays hidden.

Is it suitable for a damp bathroom?

Normal humidity is fine. Standing water is not, so keep it off a wet floor and let it dry if it gets splashed. Willow kept dry indoors lasts for decades.
